Celina took on the Bonham Warriors Tuesday night in the Bobcat gymnasium. The Ladycats started off dominant from the start and kept that momentum through the game to conclude the game with a victory of 69-41. The Bobcats then took the court with the confidence from the ladies’ victory but were taken down in the first quarter with the Warriors leading 17-8. They managed to bring themselves back up to tie the score in the second quarter and managed to bring the heat back on the court, taking the lead 24-23. However, Bonham kept fighting and at the half had taken the lead back at 31-29.
The Bobcats came out strong in the third quarter and took control of the game. They quickly took the lead at 36-33 and ended the quarter ahead at 47-42. During the fourth quarter, the intensity on the court showed in each player. It was a very physical game and the Bobcats ended up dominating with a final score of 62-50.
The Bobcats remain undefeated in District play, with a commanding lead for first place. They will face the 2nd place Cardinals at Melissa High School Friday evening. When the two teams met a few weeks ago, the Bobcats narrowly won 72-69, so it should be a great game to watch!
