The holiday spirit falls on Celina’s Historic Downtown Square on Wednesday, December 5th from 5:00-8:00 pm for the annual Christmas on the Square Event! This FREE family-friendly event has become a tradition for the community during the holiday season.
Christmas on the Square, presented by Celina Main Street, features your favorite attractions including pictures with Santa, bounce houses, train ride, live reindeer, a life-sized snow globe and much more! Make sure you stop by all the community booths for free crafts, games, desserts, and photo opportunities such as Cupcakes with Mrs. Clause and a real-life elf on the shelf!
A Holiday Market including retail and food vendors selling holiday treats and goodies will be a new addition to the event. Stop by the Main Street booth to pick up your scavenger hunt card and explore downtown shops and restaurants for a chance of several prizes! The evening will be filled with joyful holiday performances from local choirs, bands, and spirit teams. The highlight of the evening is the annual tree lighting ceremony under the pavilion at 7:00 pm.
“This event gets everyone in the holiday spirit! It is true community event made free to the public thanks to our community organizations, volunteers, City staff, and sponsors,” says Rebecca Barton, Downtown Development Manager for the City of Celina. Sponsorship opportunities are available and information can be found online or by contacting jmatehuala@celina-tx.gov.
Please be aware that roads will be closed and traffic rerouted for the safety of the event patrons. The event will be held rain or shine unless canceled for weather safety reasons. For weather announcements before the event, please visit the website www.celina-tx.gov/downtownevents, or follow the event on Facebook at Celina Main Street Square.
